Personal Development
At Beckfoot Nessfield we provide a safe, caring and happy environment where all children are valued, respected and listened to. As they mature and prepare for the future , children will understand British Values and how they are the basis for a tolerant and safe society. We provide pupils with meaningful opportunities to understand how to be responsible, respectful, active citizens who contribute positively to their community and society. The staff and children promote inclusion and diversity throughout school.
Our curriculum ambitions underpin our curriculum and enable all our children to grow and develop personally:
Community Diversity Possibilities Initiative
PSHE
The teaching of the PSHE curriculum provides opportunities for children to develop positive social relationships, self-esteem and a sense of responsibility; as well as encourage them to become active members of our community and help them to see that they can have an impact on the world around them.
RSE
We acknowledge that in order for children to embrace the challenges of creating a happy and successful adult life, pupils need knowledge that will enable them to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships and to build their self-efficacy.
We understand that high quality, evidence-based and age-appropriate teaching of these subjects can help prepare pupils to develop resilience, to know how and when to ask for help.
