Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Assemblies

Assemblies are a key part of school life at Beckfoot Nessfield Primary School and Nursery.

AssembliesThey are a great opportunity to celebrate our school values and to bring the whole school together. We are very fortunate to work closely with our community who work with us to plan and lead assemblies over the course of our year.

Monday No Outsiders assemblies are led by Mrs Howard and Mrs Scrivener. No Outsiders is a language and an ethos that teaches children we are all different and we all belong. No child wants to be left out, so we believe it is important to teach children, from the moment they enter a setting, that no one is left out at Beckfoot Nessfield because everyone is included, it is very powerful. Everyone belongs at our school – there are no outsiders!

Tuesday assemblies are a mixture of faith assemblies and singing assemblies. Faith assemblies are organised by our RE Leader, Miss Headley, depending on festivals and celebrations. Local faith leaders are invited to share in our faith assemblies. Singing assemblies are led by Miss McLarnon. our Music Leader, and interweave with key themes and festivals during the year e.g. Harvest or Eid.

On Thursday we have an assembly led by Miss Hanson linked to our preventative curriculum. These assemblies teach us how to stary safe and manage our own personal physical and mental well-being. They are a chance for us to discuss and share our thoughts and ideas as well as our concerns about the world we live in.

Friday assemblies are for celebrating learning across school. Each class teacher personally rewards a child, or children, in their class for demonstrating amazing learning powers in the week. It is an opportunity to show how amazing our children and inspire others to achieve. Parents of children receiving an award are contacted in the week so they can come and share in the assembly and their child's success. Children are rewarded with a special Star Learner pin that they can wear in school.

At other times across the week, we also may have additional assemblies linked to key initiatives or special events that are happening. These are often led by the children themselves such as the Y6 Remembrance Day assembly and Y5 Fairtrade Assembly.
