We had a fantastic session this morning with a visiting WW1 soldier, who shared his experiences of life in the trenches of France during the Great War.
The children had the opportunity to handle authentic artefacts, including helmets, equipment and replica weapons, helping to bring their learning to life. They marched through recreated trenches towards the front line and discovered some of the harsh realities soldiers faced, including rats, lice and the dangers of trench foot.
Our visitor was incredibly impressed with the children’s excellent knowledge of the First World War, as well as their enthusiasm and outstanding drama skills throughout the session.
What a memorable and engaging way to learn about this important period in history! ⭐
