Dear Parents and Carers,
Temperatures are set to rise over the coming week, and as such, we would like to ensure that all children remain safe, comfortable and able to enjoy their time in school.
Please could you support us by making sure that your child comes to school: wearing a sun hat / cap, with suncream already applied before the school day (children can also bring in suncream as long as they are able to apply it themselves) and with a full water bottle. We are also allowing children to come to school in PE kit for the rest of the week (with plain navy blue shorts) should they wish to.
In response to the heat, we will also be making some adjustments within school, including: altering playtimes where needed, encouraging children to stay in shaded areas where possible and providing additional opportunities for hydration.
At present, there is no national guidance to close schools due to the weather. However, as always, we will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated with any changes.
Staff will continue to monitor all pupils closely and ensure they remain comfortable throughout the day. Thank you for your support in helping us keep everyone safe during this warm weather.
