Wider Opportunities

All our children take part in curriculum enrichment activities so they can experience ‘club type’ sessions within school time. Children from Reception to Year 6 take part in karate, swimming, boxing, archery, cheerleading, and team building sessions. Alongside sport curriculum enrichment activities, children can participate in Learn to Rock music school. They learn to play the drums, electric guitar and keyboard in small groups. There is also the opportunity to have individual lessons. Year 6 are also our singing ambassadors and often go out into our local community to perform.

At Beckfoot Nessfield we plan opportunities to build children’s aspirations and ambitions. We plan a careers week each year for our children to introduce them to a variety of careers and jobs. They will broaden their understanding of careers and begin to plan for their future, Year 5 children also participate in Positive Footprints Network’s Raising Aspirations programme, opening them up to the world of work, building their self-belief, their resilience, and their ability to recognise their personal qualities and how they could be used in thr workplace.

We value collective worship and assemblies, which we design to promote spiritual, moral and cultural development. Our assemblies provide opportunities for children to explore their own beliefs as well as develop community spirit through our shared ethos and values. We also explore British Values and share our achievements. 

At Beckfoot Nessfield, we value trips and visits. We carefully map them out to enhance learning and provide children with valuable opportunities. Our trips are carefully planned and researched so that they provide value for money and we provide free school meal parents with support.
