We would like to update you on the building works taking place at our school over the coming and weeks and months. These works are part of our preparations for the future co-location with Beckfoot Phoenix, and we want to ensure our whole school community is kept fully informed as this exciting project progresses.
As always, the safety and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and local community remains central to everything we do, and we will do our best to minimise disruption wherever possible.
Works beginning this week
Initial ground works will begin this week to prepare the area for the temporary classrooms that will support us during the construction period.
These temporary units are scheduled to be craned into place during the Easter holidays. At some point during this time, the road outside our school will need to be closed while the units are brought in and out. We do not yet have a confirmed date for this closure, but we will share this information as soon as it is available. To support safety on and around our site:
- All traffic movement will pause at key arrival and departure times
- Any noisier works will take place strictly between 8.00am and 4.00pm
While some disruption is unavoidable, we will work closely with contractors to ensure this is kept to a minimum.
Summer Holiday works
During the Summer break, further external works will take place. These include:
- Expanding our car park
- Preparing the front of school for a new therapy block and entrance
- Creating new pathways around the site
Some timelines are still being finalised, but we will continue to share updates as soon as they are confirmed.
From September onwards
From September, internal works will begin within in our school building, alongside continued progress on the new therapy block. These works will be carefully phased so that school can continue to operate safely and smoothly throughout.
The current aim is for all works to be completed by Easter 2027, although this may change as the project progresses.
Staying informed
We are committed to keeping our community updated regularly. All key information, timelines and changes will be posted on our website.
We understand that a project of this scale can raise questions, and we truly appreciate the patience and support of our families and neighbours as these works take place. Please be assured that we are working closely with the Local Authority and contractors to ensure the work is carried out safely, efficiently and respectfully.
Thank you for your continued support as we enter this new and exciting chapter for our school.
