Dear families,
I am delighted to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 3rd and 4th June 2025. Following this visit, Beckfoot Nessfield Primary School and Nursery has been officially rated ‘Good’ in all areas, a significant milestone in our journey to remarkable.
The report celebrates our school’s continued improvement and growing strengths, particularly our unwavering focus on both academic excellence and personal development. Inspectors described Beckfoot Nessfield as a place where “pupils get along well together”, feel “happy and safe”, and where “bullying is rare.”
The report is now available on our website, and I would encourage you to read it in full.
The report highlights numerous strengths that have contributed to our school’s remarkable progress, key insights included:
- Our school “places personal development on a par with academic achievement, supporting pupils to be “successful in the next stage of their lives.”
- Classrooms are described as “calm” and focused, with minimal disruptions so that pupils can learn more effectively.
- Our community is “proud that it is a ‘no outsiders’ school”, where pupils “accept differences and treat people equally.”
- Our Early Years provision is recognised as particularly strong, helping children to “learn the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to be successful.”
- Our “strengthened curriculum is impacting positively on current pupils’ learning”, enabling them to “talk confidently about what they have learned.”
- Our pupils “demonstrate positive attitudes to school.”
- Our “systems to improve attendance have been successful”, with effective pastoral support helping families to overcome barriers and “leading to increased attendance.”
- Pupils benefit from an “effective taught personal development programme”, and a “well thought out enrichment programme”, allowing children to engage in expert led sessions such as first aid, bike-ability, boxing, and museum workshops.
As we celebrate this important milestone, we remain committed to building on our successes. We will continue working closely with our community and the Beckfoot Trust to reflect on areas for further development and ensure that every child at Beckfoot Nessfield can enjoy, learn and succeed.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all. Your ongoing support has been instrumental in helping us create a school where children feel valued, included, and excited to learn. I hope you share in our pride, this achievement belongs to the whole school community.
